OBSBOT Tail Air Firmware Upgrade Manual

Auto Upgrade (Recommendation)

● Turn on the OBSBOT Tail Air. The device is powered on when the green light remains on.

● Launch the latest OBSBOT Center and connect the Tail Air through Wi-Fi or hotspot. Or use a data cable to link to computer directly.

● If there is a new firmware, a "Firmware Upgrade Info" window will appear. Click "Yes" to continue.

● Alternatively, update the firmware in “Software Settings” -> “Device Management” -> “More” -> “Update”; Or find it in “More” -> “Firmware Version” and then click ”Update”.

● After downloading, click "OK", the firmware file will be automatically uploaded to the SD card.

● After the firmware file is successfully uploaded, click "OK" to start the upgrade. During the upgrade, the device will restart and will disconnect with the software, and the blue and yellow lights will flash alternately.

● When the upgrade completes, the Tail Air will reconnect and the indicator light will stay on green. You can check the latest firmware version in “Device Management” or “More”.

Manual Upgrade

● Turn on the OBSBOT Tail Air. When the green light keeps on, the device is powered on.

● Open the newest OBSBOT Center and connect the Tail Air.

● Download the latest firmware file from:
https://www.obsbot.com/download/obsbot-tail-air

● Click “Manual Upgrade” under “More” or “Device Management”, locate and open the firmware file you’ve downloaded. The firmware file will be automatically uploaded to the SD card.

● After the firmware file is successfully uploaded, click "OK" to start the upgrade. During the upgrade, the device will restart and will disconnect with the software, and the blue and yellow lights will flash alternately.

● When the upgrade completes, the Tail Air will reconnect and the indicator light will stay on green. You can check the latest firmware version in “Device Management” or “More”.

● Click “Manual Upgrade” under “More” or “Device Management”, locate and open the firmware file you’ve downloaded. The firmware file will be automatically uploaded to the SD card.

● After the firmware file is successfully uploaded, click "OK" to start the upgrade. During the upgrade, the device will restart and will disconnect with the software, and the blue and yellow lights will flash alternately.

● When the upgrade completes, the Tail Air will reconnect and the indicator light will stay on green. You can check the latest firmware version in “Device Management” or “More”.

Step 1: When new firmware is available for Tail Air, a notification will appear when you access the camera via the Obsbot Start App.

Step 2: Click on "View" to go to the download page.

Step 3: Click on "Download Firmware" and the App will begin downloading the firmware file.

Note: If you are using a cellular data connection, a notification will appear to confirm whether you want to use cellular data for downloading the firmware file.

While the file is downloading, you can exit the page, and the download will continue in the background.

Step 4: After the download is complete, the App will automatically start the firmware update.

If you have exited the download page, a prompt will appear reminding you to start upgrading when the download is finished.

During the update, the indicator light of OBSBOT Tail Air will flash blue and yellow alternately.
Note: Please do not close the Obsbot Start App or turn off the device during the update process.
The update process will take 3-4 minutes, and when it is finished, Tail Air will restart.
The indicator light will turn green (by default), indicating that the update is successful.
